Bed Bug Inspection – K9 Bed Bug Detection Dogs
Much has been written about various ways of detecting bed bugs. Usually, when one wakes up with itchy bites in the morning and simply can not figure out what is biting them it starts the initial suspicion. After a brief search on the internet most people realize that they may have been exposed to bed bugs. That’s usually when the panic sets in. However, there is really no need for panic. Yes, the thought that bugs have invaded your home and are now feeding on your blood may have negative images associated with it (tongue firmly in cheek), there are ways to identify if you do in fact have bed bugs in your home. The first question that should be asked is how do I know if I have bed bugs?
How do I know if I have bed bugs?
There are a number of ways that you can tell if you have bed bugs yourself. Obviously, if you see them (and identify the bugs via pictures on the net) or the evidence that they leave behind it is possible to identify them yourself. However, this is usually not possible when the bed bug infestation is in the early stages of taking hold in your home. When this is the case, you need a bed bug inspection!
What is a K9 beg bug inspection?
As the title implies, a K9 bed bug inspection is conducted using a very specialized and highly trained bed bug sniffing dog. That’s right, a dog that can detect bed bugs and their eggs. A dog is capable of doing a much more accurate and less time consuming bed bug inspection than a human simply because a human is forced to use only his/her eyes to actually see the bed bugs (something that is difficult to do) whereas a dog can smell them even when they’re hiding (something they are always doing).
The bed bug detection dog is accompanied by a trained handler that assists the dog in conducting the inspection. When the dog detects bed bugs it will ‘alert’ to that fact and show the handler where they are hiding. At that point, the handler will attempt to visually confirm the ‘alert’.
According to the commercial pest control in sydney, a bed bug inspection using a properly trained dog offers very benefits to bed bug detection, not the least of which is peace of mind regardless if bed bugs are present in your home or not – either way you will find out quickly.
